"I have been bent and broken - but I hope - into better shape" (Charles Dickens).
Seaglass - shaped over time by the rough treatment of waves, tides, rocks. Put to the test many times, it emerges from the water changed by what it has been through, but no less beautiful. All this makes me ponder on everything that we face in life as as women, how things that happen can leave their marks on us. We are still ourselves, yet we are different than we were before, we are changed, older, wiser. And like seaglass, we too are resilient, and inherently beautiful.

For this necklace, a dainty piece of deep green seaglass has been bezel set in recycled silver. The bezel encases the sides of the glass but leaves the front and back open. This allows the light to shine right through the glass, showing off its emerald like colour beautifully. The result is freeform, raw and organic. A truly one of a kind piece, this can never be recreated precisely, the shape and texture of the glass having been formed by years spent at sea.
* The seaglass pendant is just under 1cm in diameter. It can be purchased alone, or alongside a textured recycled silver nugget, which is just over 1cm in diameter
